Students from Earl L. Vandermeulen High School embarked on an exciting and memorable field trip to the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank, immersing themselves in the tranquility of yoga amidst playful goats. Organized by the school’s yoga club, this outing provided a perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and connection with nature.

Led by the dedicated guidance of Dinarae Camarda, teacher and yoga club advisor, and teacher Nancy Randazzo, the students indulged in an hour-long yoga session surrounded by the picturesque scenery of the farm. The gentle movements of yoga were complemented by the joyful presence of goats, adding a unique and playful element to the practice.

“Ms. Dinarae Camarda and Ms. Nancy Randazzo’s chaperoning ensured that the students had a safe and enjoyable experience throughout the trip,” said John Ruggero, Principal of Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. “This field trip not only provided a refreshing break from the routine but also fostered a sense of community and teamwork among the participants.”

Following the yoga session, the students interacted with the friendly goats, further enhancing their experience. A delightful wagon ride through the farm allowed them to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings before indulging in a well-deserved lunch. What makes this field trip even more special is that the students took ownership of the experience by raising funds entirely on their own. Through bake sales and other fundraising efforts, they covered the costs of the trip as well as the transportation, showcasing their dedication and commitment to making this outing a reality.

The Earl L. Vandermeulen High School’s goat yoga field trip exemplifies the school’s commitment to providing students with diverse and enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom. It serves as a testament to the school community’s creativity, initiative, and spirit of adventure.
