Earl L. Vandermeulen High School Student Lucy Kwon Triumphs at Scholastic Art and Writing Competition

Earl L. Vandermeulen High School is proud to announce that Lucy Kwon achieved remarkable success in the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. Lucy submitted six pieces of artwork to the competition and received multiple accolades, underscoring her exceptional artistic talent and dedication.

Lucy was awarded two Gold Keys, three Silver Keys, and an Honorable Mention for her outstanding entries. The two Gold Key pieces will advance to the competition's national level, providing Lucy with an opportunity to compete for national recognition and earn a scholarship.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Competition is one of the most esteemed programs for young artists and writers in the United States. It recognizes the vision, ingenuity, and talent of young creators, and provides them with opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. Lucy’s achievement is a testament to her hard work and creativity—as well as the supportive environment at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. Lucy will be attending the School of Visual Arts this fall. 

Lucy Kwon's success serves as an inspiration to her peers and highlights the importance of nurturing and supporting young artists in their creative endeavors.
