Earl L. Vandermeulen High School Student Recognized for Academic Excellence at Town of Brookhaven’s 33rd Annual Black History Night

Port Jefferson’s Earl L. Vandermeulen High School student Avery Jean-Baptiste was honored for his outstanding academic achievements at the Town of Brookhaven’s 33rd Annual Black History Night. The event showcased Avery’s academic excellence, and the talent of the entire class of 2024, particularly his impressive 92.7 grade point average.

“Congratulations to Avery on this well-deserved recognition,” said John Ruggero, Principal of Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. “We look forward to witnessing Avery’s continued success in his academic journey and beyond.”

The evening was filled with cultural festivities, including food tasting, performances, and art exhibits, all in celebration of Black History Month. Avery’s dedication to academic excellence and his remarkable achievements serve as an inspiration to his peers and his school community.
