Port Jefferson School District Student-Athletes Qualify for NYSPHSAA Championship

The Port Jefferson School District is proud to announce that several students have qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Championship. These talented student-athletes have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and perseverance in their respective sports, earning them a spot in this prestigious competition.

“We are beyond thrilled to see our student-athletes represent our school and community at the NYSPHSAA Championship,” said Adam Sherrard, Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics, and Nursing. “Their dedication and passion for sports serve as an inspiration for their peers and the entire Port Jefferson community.”

The district extends its congratulations to everyone who qualified for the NYSPHSAA Championship and wishes them the best of luck.

Swimming: March 1-2, Ithaca College

Track: March 2 Ocean Breeze, Staten Island

Alexa Jacobs (County Champion in 55m and 300m), 10th grade, Earl L. Vandermeulen High School
Evan Monaghan (Small School champion in 55m hurdles), 11th grade, Earl L. Vandermeulen High School
