Earl L. Vandermeulen High School proudly hosted its much-anticipated annual Homecoming celebration, bringing together students, families, and community members for a day filled with spirit, camaraderie, and fun.
During the school day, students and staff from the high school and middle school participated in their annual pep rally. Student-athletes were recognized for their participation in varsity sports and the students and staff participated in the tug-of-war and scooter challenge. At the end, the varsity cheerleaders performed to fire up the crowd, and the homecoming King, Queen, and grand marshal were announced.
The festivities continued with a vibrant Homecoming Parade on Friday night, where student-athletes, clubs, and local organizations showcased their school pride. Decorated vehicles and enthusiastic participants lined the streets, drawing cheers from an excited crowd. The next day was the Royal Ed Fun Run, a family-friendly event that encouraged participants of all ages to join the active celebration. Runners took to the streets, promoting fitness and community spirit while supporting local charities.
Saturday culminated in the lively Homecoming Carnival, where attendees enjoyed games, food, and entertainment. From carnival games to face painting, the event was a hit among families, providing a festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. The Homecoming festivities wrapped up with the highly anticipated Homecoming Game, where the school’s teams took to the field to showcase their talent and determination. Fans filled the stands, proudly displaying school colors and cheering on their teams.
“Homecoming is a special time for our school and community to come together and celebrate our spirit and pride,” said John Ruggero, Principal of Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. “We are grateful for the overwhelming support from our families and community members, making this event a huge success.”
