Edna Louise Spear Elementary School’s fourth-grade music students recently participated in the SCMEA PEAK (Parents, Educators, and Kids) Festival. Talented musicians Magdalene Masone, Rosanna Pachas, and Annika Schenke represented the school, and they were accompanied by their dedicated music teacher, Ms. Zimlinghaus.

The SCMEA PEAK Festival is a vibrant celebration of elementary classroom music that brings together students from Suffolk County. This unique event allows young musicians to showcase their talents in a collaborative environment, performing alongside their parents and music teachers.

The festival highlights the students’ hard work and dedication to music while fostering a sense of community and shared learning among families and educators. This year’s event featured an array of musical performances, celebrating the joy of music in a supportive and engaging atmosphere.

“We are incredibly proud of Magdalene, Rosanna, and Annika for their enthusiasm and commitment to music,” said Dr. Michael Caravello, Director of Music and Fine Arts. “The PEAK Festival is a wonderful opportunity for our students to shine and connect with their families and peers through the power of music.”

Participating in the PEAK Festival allows students to experience the thrill of performing in front of an audience while building their confidence and love for music. The event reinforces the importance of music education and encourages ongoing participation in the arts.
