The Port Jefferson School District welcomed its newest educators and staff members during a comprehensive two-day orientation program in preparation for the 2025–2026 school year.

The orientation began with a welcome breakfast, offering an opportunity for new staff members to meet district administrators, colleagues, and mentors. The first day’s agenda included an overview of the district’s mission, vision, and educational programs, providing a solid foundation for the incoming staff to understand the values and expectations of the Port Jefferson community.

Throughout the day, attendees participated in informative sessions that introduced them to the new staff program, designed to support a smooth transition into their new roles. The day concluded with a special lunch generously provided by the Port Jefferson Teachers Association (PJTA), reflecting the district’s strong culture of collaboration and support.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a talented and dedicated group of professionals to our school community,” said Dr. Robert Niedig, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. “Their enthusiasm and commitment will no doubt contribute greatly to our students' success.”

The second day of orientation continued with building-level tours, curriculum planning sessions, and opportunities to connect with building administrators and support staff. The experience not only helped new hires acclimate to their new environment but also instilled a strong sense of belonging and excitement for the year ahead.
