Port Jefferson School District Special Education Office Announces New Location
The special education office of the Port Jefferson School District is moving to a new location. The department’s office has relocated from the District administration building to Port Jefferson Middle School, which is also connected to Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. The new address is 350 Old Post Road, Port Jefferson, NY 11777, and all department phone numbers will remain the same.
“This new location will provide our department with increased access to students and staff in the middle and high schools,” said Dr. Jodi Cahill, the Port Jefferson School District Director of Special Education. “This centralized location also includes a conference room, where secondary-level meetings will take place as we collaborate on educating students. Paired with the elementary-level meetings taking place in our elementary school, these cooperative spaces and gatherings will enable us to best support our students and families.”
The special education department—which works with students between the ages of three and 22—is also proud to welcome several new staff members filling impactful positions in the District this school year. This includes special education teachers, support staff, a high school psychologist, and an elementary school speech teacher. In addition, the office looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital CARE Initiative (Comprehensive Assistance, Resources, and Education), a program designed to support the health and well-being of students.
