Earl L. Vandermeulen High School student Fiona Reichers has been named a co-honoree of The Port Jefferson Village Charles Dickens Festival.

Fiona, a senior, is a long-standing volunteer in the annual event, this year celebrating 27 years. She has been a part of the festivities since she was in sixth grade, participating as a street character and portraying an individual from the early Victorian era in London, and acting in adaptations of famed Dickens stories into small skits.

“This is a wonderful achievement for Fiona, in not only participating in a local event but sharing in a fun and festive way – to be involved in the greater community,” Principal John Ruggero said.
