On Oct. 10, the Port Jefferson Board of Education presented 48 students with President’s Volunteer Service Award certificates. To earn the recognition, the students each volunteered between 50 and 100 hours of their time to the Port Jefferson community. The students were named by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Robert Neidig and congratulated by Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Jessica Schmettan. Dr. Neidig also thanked the PTSA for their help in coordinating the efforts of the students.
