At Edna Louise Spear Elementary School, a week of Port Jefferson school spirit included a fun pajama day, grade-level color wars, skier vs. surfer and wearing the Royal colors of purple and white – but what do students do when several busloads of high school student-athletes visit the school?
Wave those purple pompoms and join in the fun and cheers!
All fall Royal high school athletic teams were eager for hugs with younger siblings, smiles for former teachers and lots of high-fives on a visit to the elementary school to promote the upcoming homecoming weekend festivities. Those include tonight’s Light Up The Night parade and tomorrow’s Royal Ed Fun Run, alumni softball game and varsity football game against Center Moriches.
Girls soccer coach Mr. Taylor Forstell may have been the Royal winner in getting dozens of high-fives from the elementary students.
It was a great visit, with lots of cheers and excitement. The wonderful weather and the Port Jeff Royal spirit are excellent additions to this weekend’s activities. Go Royals!
