Thank you to our high school peer leaders for their well-prepared presentation on the dangers of vaping. With training from John Martin, an educator from the Suffolk County Department of Health’s Office of Health Education, the student leaders highlighted the lessons they learned with eighth graders in an interactive format. With some icebreaker activities, fun games and a Powerpoint presentation, the students shared how they support one another and engaged in a dialogue with the younger students before their entry into the high school in September. “These students did a great job in educating and empowering the future high school students,” school social worker Kristin Britt said.
