Staff and students at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School make it an everyday effort to share kind gestures throughout the building, so spreading it even more during World Kindness Week was another kindhearted opportunity to do so. According to special education teacher Ms. Paige Lohmann who helped coordinate the schoolwide event, during lunchtime a kindness booth was set up that encouraged students to write something kind to classmates or a favorite teacher. Each day had a theme to cultivate friendship, generosity and consideration for others. “Kindness is a team effort” had participants wearing their favorite sports apparel, “Light up the world with kindness” encouraged fluorescent colors, and tie-dye clothing was the inspiration for “Tied up in kindness.” Staff and students ended the weeklong activities by dreaming of a kinder world and wearing their pajamas to school!
