BOE Lauded for Tireless Efforts on Behalf of Students
Port Jefferson School District Board of Education members were lauded
for their efforts during School Board Recognition Week (Oct. 21-25), the
New York State School Board Association’s annual awareness campaign to
highlight the important role that school board members have within the
school district. “The Port Jefferson Board of Education is comprised of a
very supportive and dedicated group of volunteers who consistently put
children first in their decisions,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul
Casciano said during the Oct. 15 Board of Education meeting. “They work
many hours and attend many meetings for no compensation in order to
provide governance and oversight of the education in our
school-community. They are very deserving of our recognition for their
tireless efforts on behalf of our students, staff and residents.”
