Port Jefferson Students Take their Music to Carnegie Hall
Ten students from the Port Jefferson School District experienced a
world-class cultural institution when they performed recently at
Carnegie Hall. This enriching and educational opportunity was a result
of their commitment as participants of the Metropolitan Youth
Orchestra’s choral and orchestral ensembles.
The students are Sophie Blumenthal, Isabelle Chen, Kenny Dixon-Lanza,
David Lawler, Rose Meliker-Hammock, Chloe Pipia, Anna Rebic, David
Rotunno, Ava Schully and Nicole Schully.
“On behalf of the school district, we congratulate all of these students
on their outstanding musical achievement,” said Dr. Michael Caravello,
director of music and fine arts.
