Seeing the Needs of Others
The generosity of the Port Jefferson School District community was once
again realized when students, staff and families collected dozens of
eyeglasses for the high school’s Leo Club that will be donated to the
Lions Club International’s Recycle for Sight program.
“Not only do our students understand their role in civic engagement,
this project helps them recognize the needs of others around the world,”
said Leo Club co-adviser Brian Chalmers, of the donations that are
placed in inventory for distribution to optical missions
internationally.
Thank you to Mr. Chalmers and co-adviser Mrs. Mary LaSita for spearheading this project.
