Third-grade students experienced an informative and musical lesson on string, brass and woodwind instruments at the school’s recent instrumental recruitment meeting.
From the soft vibrations of a violin to the baritone-voiced euphonium, the students were introduced to the instruments by the current fourth-graders, who were eager to demonstrate the instrument they each play.
The annual event is a collaborative effort of Dr. Vanessa Salzman, the 4-6 grade orchestra teacher, who organizes the event and band teacher Mark Abbonizio, who runs the meeting with the students.
The district commends the students who took part in showcasing their talents. They are Ben Amadio (alto saxophone), Vincent Chen (clarinet), Gianni Cipriano (tuba), Matteo Cipriano (trumpet), Avery Eisaman (oboe), Bomin Kim (viola), Lucas Lotten (baritone), Samuel Matvya (trombone), Iris Park (cello), Ava Sexton (violin), Blake Weaver (bass) and Dasha Zakharova (flute).
