Dozens of students from the high school and middle school joined forces with members of the Port Jefferson Rotary Club to help ready Camp Paquatuck for the summer season.

Members of the high school Interact Club and the middle school National Junior Honor Society spent a recent weekend day to help ready cabins, dorm rooms and buildings and rake and add mulch to the flowering plants at the Center Moriches camp, which provides special needs children and young adults with camping experiences.

According to adviser Interact Club adviser Deirdre Filippi, the annual volunteer event is always a success for the students and helps them to understand not only the needs of others, but how simple efforts go a long way in serving the greater community.
