Students Explore Iconic Works of Art
Students from Edna Louise Spear Elementary School’s fifth-grade art club
visited the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery at SUNY Stony Brook's Staller
Center to view the “Iconicity” exhibit. The trip was an opportunity for
them to expand on their classroom and art club creativity and lessons.
They were accompanied by art teachers Richard Anderson and Meghan
McCarthy.
During the visit, Karen Levitov, director and curator for the gallery,
spoke with the students about the techniques and inspiration behind the
artists’ works before they engaged in several hands-on activities.
