Four high school students recently visited Brookhaven National Laboratory for the Partners in Science program. Hana Ali, Dylan Dugourd, Ameen Khan and Peggy Yin applied to be a part of the program that grants high school students who are working on approved science projects access to the vast BNL scientific database of reference and research materials. Sponsored by the Eastern Suffolk BOCES School Library System and the internationally renowned research facility, the students were accompanied by Middle School/High School library media specialist Mary LaSita. While at BNL, the students toured the National Synchrotron Light Source II with BNL scientist Kara Laasch, attended a lecture on the synchrotron, used the research library and attended a lunch with several scientists and LaSita.
