Senior Lia Desmond was nominated and recognized with the Thomas Cutinella Foundation Service Award for her work in helping to make a positive impact in the local community. Lia was honored during a varsity football game halftime ceremony by the Long Island Radio Broadcasting’s Tour For 54, which honors local high school students with the award to help raise awareness for the Thomas Cutinella Foundation, named in memory of the athlete and working to inspire and share the fundamental beliefs and values that defined his life. Clocking in more than 880 community service in her high school career, Lia is a member of the Section XI Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, secretary of the Peer Leadership Club, a member of the Varsity Club and the varsity volleyball team.
