It’s all about that bass!
Sophomore Jack Reilly had an exceptional musical experience when he
attended the School of Orchestral Studies of the New York State Summer
School of the Arts.
Jack, who plays bass, was part of a group of approximately 80 students
with outstanding talent in instrumental music who were selected through a
rigorous statewide audition process to participate in the prestigious
program held at Skidmore College and the Saratoga Performing Arts
Center.
During the four week program, he spent approximately 40 hours per week
in rehearsals and performance and worked with instructors on developing
his skills. He was coached in musicology and ensemble performance and
attended seminars, lectures and concerts.
Jack began his musical studies at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School
and credits music teacher Dr. Vanessa Salzman and Director of Music and
Fine Arts Dr. Michael Caravello with his continued interest in
perfecting his musical skills throughout his high school career.
