Congratulations to high school senior Annalisa Welinder who has been named a Rensselaer Medal winner for her excellence in math and science. She was nominated for the award by science teacher Michel Krivosta who retired in June after 40 years of teaching in Port Jefferson. The merit scholarship has a value of $100,000, guaranteed for four years of study at the institution, determined by her application and ultimate acceptance. Its goal is to motivate the next generation of leaders, scientists, innovators, scholars and humanitarians, among others.
