Robotics team honored by Board of Education
Members of the high school robotics team were honored by the Board of Education during a recent meeting.
Technology teacher Brian Chalmers introduced the team members present
and thanked the mentors who worked with the students during the build
season and competition before the students showcased the capabilities of
their robot. His overview emphasized how learning about robotics in a
classroom connects to real-world engineering challenges.
“They always give us a really interesting demonstration,” said BOE
President Kathleen Brennan of the students’ presentation of the complex
robotic system, the design modifications and the obstacles they face
during qualifying competitions. “It’s nice to see firsthand the work
that they do.”
