Members of the Port Jefferson School District music department entertained hundreds of spectators with seasonal music during various performances at the 22nd Annual Charles Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson Village on Dec. 2nd and 3rd.

Musical ensembles included the elementary fifth grade select choir, the elementary/middle school chamber orchestra, the middle and high school orchestras, and the high school chamber choir; performing holiday favorites throughout the weekend. Students from the middle and high school orchestras also performed chamber music at the Port Jefferson Public Library.

This special and unique opportunity highlights the District Music and Fine Arts Department’s mission to facilitate the exploration and discovery of arts education for students by fostering the tools of imaginative self-expression and meaningful social interaction.

“We are so pleased to showcase our music at this exciting event,” said Director of Music and Fine Arts, Michael Caravello. “A special thank you to all of the student musicians for sharing their holiday music with the community as well as their teachers, Katherine Butera, Christian Neubert, Vanessa Salzman and Lisa Scrom.”
