Students and teachers throughout the Port Jefferson School District put their creative thoughts into action when they took part in Port Jefferson Village’s first Harvest Fest Window Painting Contest.

To participate, student teams worked through the planning, designing and painting processes under the guidance of their teachers and were assigned a storefront to paint in a Halloween or autumn theme where they recreated their designs on the windows. Organized by the Port Jefferson Conservancy, the displays are a festive addition to the village.

Based on their artistry and creativity, the following students took the top prizes at the event:

Caitlin Dickhuth (grade 5) -1st place
Aoife Hogan (grade 5) -1st place
Hannah Skula (grade 9) - 1st place
Farrah Ghaleb (grade 9) - 2nd place
