Members of the Middle School's 7th and 8th grade orchestra paid tribute to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 by giving a moving performance during the Port Jefferson Fire Department’s annual 9/11 memorial service. The students, led by music teacher and Port Jefferson volunteer firefighter Christian Neubert, performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful.”

Here, Mr. Neubert poses with students Alexa Ayotte, Olivia Schlegel, Tabitha Schully, Teppei Fukuto, Hugo Onghai, Andrew Patterson, Anna Rebic and Kasumi Layne-Stasik.

Other students and staff commemorated the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks by wearing the colors of the American flag. Sixth graders showed their patriotism by wearing red, 7th grade students wore white and 8th grade students dressed in blue. Here, some students are shown with teacher Monica Consalvo.
