The middle school Science Olympiad Team has earned a spot at the state competition after winning third place and 14 medals at the Suffolk County Regional Division competition, held at Candlewood Middle School.
To earn their placement, the students in grades 6-9, competed against 38 teams in events that tested their skills in earth science, biology, chemistry and physical engineering.
The Port Jefferson School District extends its congratulations to the team for their accomplishment and wishes them the best at the state competition, which will be held on April 7 and 8 at East Syracuse-Minoa High School in Syracuse, New York.
