Middle school sixth-grader Farzana Shakeri was recognized by the Port Jefferson Board of Education on March 21 for sharing her knowledge of Dubai with her peers as part of an architectural lesson on the Ottoman Empire. Farzana who recently moved to the area from Dubai, presented photos that helped her fellow students better visualize Dubai’s architecture.
