Student’s Volunteerism Recognized
High school senior Eve Milusich has earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award for dedicating 320 hours of volunteer service to the Save-a-Pet Animal Shelter in Port Jefferson Station.
Eve completed the required volunteer hours over the course of three years. During that time, she helped clean out the cat area and train other volunteers.
“It’s important to volunteer to engage in the community and help others,” she said.
In addition to volunteering her time, Eve is a member of her school’s Leo Club, president of the Interact Club, vice president of the Gay/Straight Alliance, a member of the Tri-M Music Society and National Honor Society.
Eve plans to attend Scripps College in California in the fall.
