High school senior Jillian Colucci has been named as part of Newsday’s All-Long Island Sports Awards as Suffolk County’s Soccer Player of the Year and as a member of the All-Long Island soccer team.

Jillian, who helped lead the varsity soccer team two back-to-back Class C State Championships, has been a member of the varsity team since the seventh grade. She has played the sport since the age of 4.

“I watched my brother play soccer since I was a baby. It was natural to follow in his path,” said Jillian.

In addition to playing soccer, Jillian is also a basketball player, president of her school’s Varsity Club, a member of the National Honor Society and treasurer of the Interact Club.

Jillian plans to attend Marist College in the fall. She has not yet declared a major.

“It was so wonderful and such an honor to have received the Suffolk Soccer player of the year title,” said Jillian.
