High school students enrolled in Amanda Brideson’s forensic science class in Port Jefferson School District were introduced to multiple fields within law enforcement during a presentation by Ms. Brideson’s father, Robert Brideson on Dec. 2.

During the session, Mr. Brideson, a retired NYPD sergeant, homeland security instructor and crime scene clean up technician, answered questions and spoke about his career. He also allowed students to try-on basic equipment that they would wear if they entered law enforcement, including cleanup suits, masks and standard police office gear.

“Students expressed that it was nice to be able to meet someone in the field and try on real life equipment,” said Ms. Brideson.
