Newsweek has named Earl L. Vandermeulen High School as one of the top 500 high schools in America in 2016.
The news organization ranked the high school based on academic achievement on 2014-2015 state assessments in reading and mathematics, as well as other factors related to college readiness.
Based on the evaluation, Earl L. Vandermeulen was one of 20 Long Island high schools selected.
Of the distinction, Superintendent of Schools Paul Casciano said, "I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who contributed to this outstanding designation.”
