Over the summer, elementary and middle school students in the Port Jefferson School District participated in the district’s annual summer music camp.

The three-week camp gave beginning and intermediate band and string students the opportunity to make new friends while advancing their musical abilities in a positive and enjoyable environment.

Also, for the first time, the camp offered a “Little Maestros” violin class to first- and second-graders, enabling young students to begin their musical studies prior to participating in the district’s formal fourth-grade instrument program.
