Royal Pride was in the air as the Port Jefferson School District’s athletic department hosted a college commitment ceremony on May 31 for student-athletes who have chosen to continue their athletic journeys at some of the nation’s top colleges this fall.

During the program, the Earl L. Vandermeulen High School students penned their names to college commitment letters as proud parents, coaches and school administrators watched.

“We are very proud of these student-athletes and wish them success,” said Edward Cinelli, district interim director of physical education, health and athletics.

The school district extends its congratulations to the following seniors:

Rita Chen, University of Maine (Swimming)
Michael DiCalogero, Alfred University (Football)
Matteo DeVincenzo, Princeton University (Wrestling)
Olivia Love, State University of New York at Plattsburgh (Soccer)
Leslye Rosario, Alfred University (Volleyball)
Max Scandale, Pace University (Lacrosse)
William Witrock, Tufts University (Track)
