Prestigious Scholarship Earned
In honor of her efforts to create a proactive district policy regarding transgender youth, high school senior Emma Martin earned a $1,000 scholarship from the law firm of Goldstein and Bashner. The award was presented as part of the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying’s first Anti-Bullying essay scholarship contest.
Emma, who worked on the policy as a president of her school’s Gay Straight Alliance, was thrilled to have earned the scholarship in response to her work to help make a difference in her school.
Emma will be attending Adelphi University in the fall to study social work.
