Donations Pile Up
The middle school collected more than 500 personal care and food items for Port Jefferson’s Welcome INN, a local establishment that provides food and other essentials to individuals in need.
The donations were counted and grouped by grade level, with the seventh-graders donating the most items — 250. Seventh-graders in Monica Consalvo’s class delivered all of the donations to the Welcome INN on Feb. 26.
The schoolwide collection drive culminated the school’s Random Acts of Kindness Week, where students learned how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
