Port Jefferson Village declares a State of Emergency
The Mayor of Port Jefferson Village declares a State of Emergency due to
the blizzard watch beginning at 6:00 pm, Friday Jan
22nd through 12 midnight on Sunday,
January 24th, 2016.
All residents are asked to stay home and not be on the roads for any
reason unless it is an emergency on Saturday and Sunday morning till
noon, as we expect coastal flooding,
blinding snow and very high winds to cause extremely hazardous and life
threatening conditions.
Cars parked on marked snow emergency routes will be ticketed and/or
towed beginning Friday at 6:00 pm.
Please maintain your sidewalks with salt so we can open for business as
soon as possible. Enforcement will commence Monday
morning in sidewalks.
