The district has appointed Karen Horoszewski as the new assistant to the assistant superintendent of business, effective Sept. 9.
“Mrs. Horoszewski’s experience and knowledge, coupled with her enthusiasm, will enable her to hit the ground running and positively impact the business office’s operations,” said Assistant Superintendent of Business Sean Leister.
Prior to joining the Port Jefferson School District, Horoszewski was employed by the South Country Central School District for seven years. She rose through the ranks to become the business office manager and purchasing agent. Her professional background also includes experience as a senior account clerk for the North Babylon Union Free School District.
In addition to her bachelor’s degree, Horoszewski holds an MBA and a School District Business Leader Advanced Certificate from Dowling College.
