Several students recently proved their smarts when it comes to correctly answering math questions. Among them was eighth-grader Annalisa Welinder, who earned fifth place for her score in the Level 3 Algebra/Trig Suffolk County Math Contest. Fellow eighth-grader Mayu Takeuchi also demonstrated her mathematical prowess with a score of 106 out of 120 on the AMC10 test, which is designed for high school students. Mayu’s score was the highest in her school.

Additionally, high school senior Ryan Burke qualified to take the prestigious American Invitational Mathematics Examination after earning a score of 106.5 on the AMC12 test. Ryan’s high score was in the top 5 percent nationally.
