With hammers and nails in hand, members of the high school Interact Club helped build a home in Mastic Beach as part of the Habitat for Humanity Student Build program.

The students spent the day installing windows on the first floor of the home and hammering in the front porch. They also raised $1,500 for the project through a fundraiser.

“This was truly a rewarding experience for the girls, who learned about Habitat’s organization and helped get a deserving family a step closer to moving into their new home,” said club advisor Deirdre Filippi.
