Praised for its high academic achievement, student growth, graduation rate and progress during the last academic year, Earl L. Vandermeulen High School has been named a 2019-20 Recognition School by the New York State Education Department. Recognition Schools are identified for being among the highest achieving schools under the state’s Every Student Succeeds Act for performance and for student growth and/or graduation rates. Earl L. Vandermeulen High School is among the 582 schools named that have also met or exceeded measures of interim progress for English language arts and mathematics, and college, career and civic readiness. “We commend our educators, administrators, staff, parents, and most importantly our students,” Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Jessica Schmettan said. “Their unwavering dedication and ongoing efforts are an integral part in this recognition.”
