To kick off a science unit on space lessons, first graders learned about the planets through an inflatable, portable planetarium. With the support of the Royal Educational Foundation of Port Jefferson, Star Lab, a unique educational resource, was set up inside the school, and Long Island Science Center educator Angela Kiang spent the day encouraging students to view the dark skies and observe the astronomical simulations. This inspired them with a galactic experience to better understand the world around them.
