The Edna Louise Spear Elementary School cafeteria was filled with the
kindergarten Class of 2032 and their parents who together embarked on a
festive holiday craft that is the newest Port Jefferson tradition. Amy
Laverty, the K-8 assistant principal led the dozens of crafters in a
simple applesauce and cinnamon ornament creation. The event was a way to
meet the parents in a fun and festive environment and for the families
to treasure a keepsake that signifies the beginning of their child’s
academic career in the Port Jefferson School District.
